Rapid Employment Services

Rapid Employment Services (RES) is a service for job-ready Albertans looking to enter the workplace immediately. RES clients will work with one-on-one with a job coach to determine their job search needs and will have access to several employment services provided at the client’s needs.

RES services include: job search techniques, interview skills, resume writing, assessing skill gaps, understanding transferable skills, identifying the hidden job market, researching new sectors, generating employment leads, and direct job placement.

Self or staff driven assessments, job focusing, workshops, basic job search skills, occupational training, access to short courses related to the Client’s job goals, current Calgary labour market information, successful link to a job, and job maintenance support right through the six month follow up.

The maximum length for this service is 12 weeks with a follow up at 3 and 6 months.

All RES clients will be placed in one of the following components:

Direct Employment Placement and Supports

May include:

  • Work search strategies through one-on-one coaching
  • Researching occupations/local labour market through data, trends, and the internet.
  • Transferrable skills analysis and knowledge
  • Assessing the skill gaps/skill development for the client’s job goals
  • Writing customized resumes and cover letters
  • Accessing the Hidden Job Market from research and cold calling
  • Interview skills through one-on-one or small group coaching

Direct Job Matching

May include

  • Job Developer conducting network calls
  • Writing customized resumes and cover letters
  • Interview skills through one-on-one or small group coaching
  • Research short courses from any skills gap
  • Access to Employment Readiness Supports

Unpaid Work Exposure or Experience

May include

  • Matching process between the client and employer
  • Arranging for placement
  • Monitoring of work exposure or experience progress
  • Negotiation transition from work exposure to employment

 You may be eligible to enroll if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 – 64
  • Are looking for permanent, full-time employment
  • Ready, willing, and able work
  • Are currently unemployed, or under-employed (working less than 19 hours/week)
  • Are not enrolled in another training program
