  • Youth Links/National Work Experience (WE)

    Youth Links/National Work Experience (WE) is designed for youth aged 15-30 to overcome barriers in finding employment. Participants will complete 12 weeks of paid work experience to develop their job based skills while receiving one-on-one job coaching throughout the program. Employers receive a wage subsidy for the term of the program based employment and participants receive the necessary job skills to be successful going forward in their working life. Participants receive a $500 bonus upon successful completion of Youth Links.

    Regular intake sessions occur weekly on Wednesday between 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Staff meet with people, one-on-one, on a first come, first serve basis. You will be able to discuss the program and see if it is right for you, and make a plan.

    New groups start every 4 weeks. There is a one week assessment prior to acceptance into Program.

  • Bridges to Success

    A full time program designed to aid unemployed or underemployed Albertans learn the essential skills needed to find and maintain employment, or succeed at obtaining their educational goals. Training and support with pre-employment skills or for accessing further education or training is provided by a team of coaches, in a classroom setting. Program is customized for each individual and runs to a maximum of 26 weeks, including a mandatory work experience.

    Regular intake sessions occur weekly on Wednesday between 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Staff meet with people, one-on-one, on a first come, first serve basis. You will be able to discuss the program and see if it is right for you, and make a plan.

  • Transition to Employment Services

    A component of the Bridges to Success program, Transition to Employment Services is for those individuals who have a good employment history, but have been unsuccessful finding employment on their own. This service helps clients revise their resumes, and improve their job search skills with the goal of finding full-time employment as soon as possible. Transition of Employment Services participants will work one-on-one with a job coach to determine their job search needs.

    Regular intake session occur weekly on Wednesday between 1:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Staff meet with people, one-on-one, on a first come, first serve basis. You will be able to discuss the program and see if it is right for you, and make plan.

    Transition to Employment Services has continual intake. Once selected for the program, participants start right away.

  • Residential & Commercial Installers & Servicers

    This Integrated Skills Training program is designed to aid unemployed Albertans in securing employment as a Residential and Commercial Installers and Servicers (RCIS). Training includes topics related to employability, safety, and the technical aspects of installation, (including millwork and cabinet installation, and kitchen and bath renovations such as counters, closets and storage).

    The program is delivered by McBride Career Group in partnership with SAIT and provides 21 weeks of training including a three week work experience. An additional 6 months follow up period of coaching and job support is also provided.

    Courses start about every 6 months. Orientation session for interested applicants occur weekly by appointment beginning about 10 weeks prior to each course start. Clients are assessed for eligibility prior to acceptance.

  • Growth 4 U

    Growth 4 U is a supported employment program for persons with mental illness. Clients develop a Return to Work Action Plan and attend various employment related workshops. They are then placed in an 8 week paid Work Experience placement and assisted to find employment if they are not hired on by their placement company. The program is no cost to participants and intake is continuous.
