Growth 4 U
Growth 4 U is a supported employment program for persons with mental illness. Clients develop a Return to Work Action Plan and attend various employment related workshops. They are then placed in an 8 week paid Work Experience placement and assisted to find employment if they are not hired on by their placement company. The program is no cost to participants and intake is continuous.more information
Winning Edge - Workplace Training
Workplace Training partners with employers who can provide individual-centered programs, on-the-job training, and paid work experience. Participating employers agree to train or provide work experience for a predetermined period of time, with the expectation of the individual being able to engage and maintain employment in most cases with the same employer.more information
Learn to work in residential and commercial building, woodworking, installation and a variety of other construction related careers. Receive certification in Standard First Aid, CPR-C, (CSTS) Construction Safety Training System, WHMIS, and Fall Protection. You will receive pre-trades certificates from McBride Career Group and SAIT.more information
Rebrand: Career & Employment Initiative for Youth
McBride Career Group Inc. offers a program which provides participants with opportunity to improve self-esteem, confidence, hard and soft skills necessary to improve the education/employment potential of youth aged 17-30 years of age. This group based program will provide integrated, coordinated services for youth which incorporate basic living skills, career information and counseling, computer literacy and technical business skills, as well as employability skills to increase work linkages. All activities evolve according to an Individualized Action Plan (IAP).
The Rebrand Program is offered in Edmonton, Calgary, Strathmore, Okotoks, Red Deer and Ponoka.
Rapid Employment Services
This program is designed for any job-ready Albertan between the age of 18-63 who is ready, willing and able to enter full time employment immediately. Clients must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident who is either underemployed or unemployed. Clients will receive an assessment, employment assistance, and access to our resource centre.
Clients are placed into at least one of the following components of the program: Direct Employment Placement and Support, Direct Job Match or Unpaid Work Exposure/Experience based on either skill set, interest or needs.
Employment assistance activities will include:
- One-on-one coaching
- Interview and job search skills
- Targeted resume writing and cover letters
- Short courses and employment readiness support
- Career cafes and career fairs
- Job retention and follow-up support
